In this paper a CAD oriented method has been applied to calculate the signal and noise parameters of a high-speed optical receiver. This receiver includes a p-i-n photodiode followed by a distributed amplifier. In this approach, for computing our desired parameters, we have calculated the admittance matrix of the equivalent two-port network of the whole circuit. A flat gain of about 4.5dB over a bandwidth of 1-19 GHz has been achieved by this structure. In addition, a favorable noise figure over this frequency range has been obtained. All of consequences demonstrate the eligibility of proposed configuration for high-speed demodulation in optical communications.
