چکیده:

Accurate reservoir model has an important role in major field management decisions. In order to e able to use simulation model for reservoir production forecast, the reservoir simulation has to be consistent with the reservoir production history. Tuning the reservoir model parameters (static and dynamic) with the aim of matching observed production data with simulation data is the typical role of history matching process. The use of a recursive technique, the Ensemble Kalman filter in history matching process has received significant attention in recent years. In this paper, the extensive application of this filter in history matching problems, advantages and disadvantages and works needed to be done to enhance the method has been investigated. Moreover, recent works on overcoming or reducing the problems of using this technique are summarized
