چکیده:

The limit analysis is an appealing choice to get rid of the complicated computations of elasto-plastic incremental solution. The solution of problem using the limit analysis technique requires the numerical discretization strategy, as well as the mathematical programming tools. In this paper a meshless technique, which is called the radial point interpolation method (RPIM), is used for the discretization process of the numerical upper bound solution in frictionless materials. By using the RPIM as a discretization technique there is no need of mesh in traditional sense and hence there is no need of remedies at the interfaces of different elements. Based on the derived relations, a computer code has been developed and the accuracy and efficiency of proposed method is investigated by solving an example at the end of the paper
