چکیده:

An algorithm is presented to generate unstructured grids in reservoirs with continuum and discrete fracture networks (DFNs) domains. Automatic gridgeneration, cell size distribution, and inherent grid quality control are among the program capabilities. Grid refinement procedure makes use of pointinsertion and cell subdivision techniques. Cell shape quality is improved topologically by an efficient edge swap method. Smooth distributions of grid points areobtained using a Laplacian smoothing approach. Unstructured grids are generated in reservoirs with simple and complex fracture networks. Grid outputsare shown for five different cases. Grid statistics and computational CPU time for the grid of complex DFNs are presented
