چکیده:

Recent experimental studies have indicated that the increase of non-plastic fines in binary granular soils such as silty sands can result in a significant reduction of soil strength against liquefaction. In this study, a unified state dependent constitutive model for binary granular soils is suggested. Instead of the global void ratio, the intergranular void ratio is employed in the model formulation as an index of the density of the soilload caring structure. It is shown that the proposed model is capable of predicting the behavior of silty sand samples over wide ranges of states and fines contents
