چکیده:

This study examines the single-phase cooling of avionic blocks, combining the cooling attributes of fans, grills, and heat sinks. To aim this goal, the high-power Clamshell Avionic Module was considered in which air is introduced to the domain through five grills and is exhausted thorough three fans outward the closure. Next, a detailed three-dimensional model of the geometry, considering the heat generated by electrical components as well as the working diagram and pressure drop of the fans and grills, was generated. Further, to model the turbulent airflow inside the domain the k–/ model was implemented. Finally, the model was used to investigate the thermal characteristics of the device. It is shown that the vorticity effects mainly influence the cooling performance inside the zone. In addition, it is deduced that higher jet Reynolds numbers yielded stronger attachment to the heated surface and lower surface temperatures
