چکیده:

this paper presents a finite element model for a smart steel shear wall by using piezoelectric materials the former corresponds to an elastic core sandwiched wall between eighteen transversely polarized acive surface layers surface bonded piezoelectric patches the mechanical model is based on bernoulli euler theory for the surface layers and timoshenko beam theory for the core . the patches are symmetrically bonded on top and bottom surfaces. the study uses abaqus v.6.7 soft ware to derive the finite element model of the smart steel shear wall.
