چکیده:

The effects of Ti contents (varied from 0%, , 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%) on the microstructure and tensile properties of an in-situ Al-20wt. %MgSi were studied. The results showed that adding 0.5 wt.% Ti reduces the average size of primary MgSi from about 70 μm to about 23 μm and changes MgSi particle morphology from irregular to more rounded regular shape. The results showed that tensile properties and elongation values of the modified composite increase significantly. The enhanced tensile properties of Ti added specimens was found to be basically due to the modification effect of Ti on the composite microstructure.
