چکیده:

SPH is a Lagrangian meshless particle method, which can be efficiently used for simulation of turbulent free surface flows in fluids and solution of large fluid deformations. The method is used for simulation of a flow emanating from a dam break and its collision with obstacles in the way which results in substantial change in free surface and velocities. The basis of SPH is briefly reviewed, and the Navier- Stokes equations including mass conservation and momentum equations are discretized accordingly. An explicit prediction-correction fractional steps formulation is used for simulation of fluid flow. Although the time steps are much shorter than required by other less flexible methods, the method remains robust and efficient. Finally, the present paper concludes by comparisons the results of the volume of fluid (VOF) method, for which a close agreement is observed
