چکیده:

In this paper, the effect of Nb addition on the glass forming ability, structure and mechanical properties of Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glass have been investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-Ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Cylindricalspecimens with 3mm in diameter and 3 cm in length fabricated by two step Cu-mold suction casting method in order to obtain a high homogeneity in composition and structure. Compression test were performed at room temperature with very low strain rate. The stress-strain curves showed that the amount of Nb obviously affects the compressive strength and plastic strain of the specimens
