In this paper poly (vinyl chloride)/clay nanocomposites were prepared by melt intercalation, using a single screw extruder. The effect of nanoclay (NC) type, molecular weight of PVC and varying amount of nanoclay(NC), on the mechanical and thermal properties of PVC/clay nanocomposites, were investigated by using the tagochi method of experimental design. X-ray diffraction method (XRD) used for PVC nanocomposite structure observation and scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used in terms of subsidiary method. Our results indicate that, three different parameters, NC types, NC content and molecular weight of PVC, have a specific effect on the tensile and thermal properties of PVC/clay nanocomposites. The results show that, the PVC nanocomposites containing 4%W Na-MMT and suspention grade PVC of K-value 65 had most effect on improving of thermal and mechanical properties of prepared PVC/Clay nanpcomposites.
