چکیده:

The paper deals with preparation and characterization of Natural rubber (NR) nanocomposites prepared by using surface modified calcium carbonate (MCC) nanofiller. Accordingly, NR nanocomposites are produced at three various nanofiller contents (5, 10, 15 phr), by employing a laboratory scale two-roll mill. Afterwards, morphology and mechanical properties regarding with those samples are compared to investigate the effect of MCC toward contribution through the NR nanocomposites. The results revealed that the ultimate tensile properties altered by changing MCC nanofiller content throughout the elastomeric matrix, which could be ascribed to significant alterations in degree of filler/matrix interaction via improvement of specific surface area of the incorporated fillers. As a result, crosslinkdensity might be changed while employing different amounts of MCC inorganic nanofiller. Eventually, the morphology micrographs has shown the impact of nanofiller dispersion within the NR nanocomposites. In another word, by increasing the MCC content, the composite nanostructure could have been affected through filler distribution into the elastomeric matrix.
