چکیده:

Waste PET bottles were recycled by Diethylene glycol (DEG) at three weight ratios of DEG to PET, using zinc acetate as a catalyst for 4 hours. The glycolyzed product with the end of hydroxyl groups as a polyester polyols, and without purification, was reacted with polymeric diphenyl methane diisocyanate (PMDI) to obtain rigid polyurethane foams (RPUFs). Cyclopentane (CYP) and 1, 1-dichloro-1- fluoro ethane (HCFC-141b) was used as a blowing agent in the production of foams. The results were shown the density of foams decrease and foaming time of RPUFs increase when the ratio of DEG/PET decreased that its unexpected for us. And also, that compressive strength and modulus increased with increase density of foam. In Addison to, for reason immiscibility between glycolysis product and CYP, foam doesn’t form with CYP as blowing agent but HCFC-141b miscible with glycolysis product and foam form
