چکیده:

Zinc nano powder was produced by a novel efficient process. The procedure of synthesis is the combination of reforming of natural gas and reducing of zinc oxide in a single unit. This phenomenon involves the reduction of zinc oxide by natural gas as a reducing agent for production of zinc vapors. Then the condensation of solid particles occurs on a low temperature copper substrate which is placed at the end of the furnace tube. Zn particles with an average crystallite size of 57.9nm were formed. Since most properties of fine particles are size dependent, the particle size as a critical property have been determined in this article. Different characterization methods such as X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), laser particle size analyzer and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) were used.
