چکیده:

In the present article, we wish to report the successful synthesis of the novel fluorene based diamine monomer, 4,4′-(4,4′-(2-(9H-fluoren-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-diyl)bis(4,1-phenylene))bis (oxy)bis(3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline) and its derived polyimide-ether-imidazoles. The presence of flexible bonds in the polymer backbone or bulky pendent groups along the main chain can both increase the corresponding solubility and reduce the glass-transition (Tg) and softening temperatures. Poly(imide-ether-imidazole)s (PIEI)s with bulky fluorine moieties showed good solubility in polar organic solvents because of decrease in interchain interactions such as hydrogen bonding and generally disturb the co-planarity of aromatic units which reduce packing efficiency and crystallinity. The monomer and polymers were characterized and polymers physical properties including inherent viscosity, solubility behavior, thermal properties and thermal stability have also been studied
