چکیده:

The cationic gemini surfactants can be used as wetting and dispersing agents in paint and coatings. In this research we were synthesized a novel cationic photopolymerizable gemini surfactant (CPGS) which can be cured by ultraviolet Uadiation. This Gemini surfactant is a functional macromonomer that can be used as wetting, dispersing agent and cross-linking agent in formulation and preparation of UV-curable coatings. The CPGS was synthesized in three steps. The first step, urethane acrylate with a tertiary amine terminal group was synthesized by isophorone diisocyante (IPDI), hydroxyethy1 methacrylate (HEMA) and N,N-dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) in the presence of dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL) as catalyst and acetone as a reaction solvent. In next step, CPGS was synthesized by quaterniztion of urethane acrylate having tertiary amine with 1,8-diboromooctane. Finally, acetone was removed by vacuum oven. The CPGS was characterized by H-NMR, FT-IR. Application of CPGS was investigated in UV-curable coatings.
