چکیده:

Fluidized bed drying with superheated-steam is a newly alternative approach instead of using the conventional hot air and flue gasses. The drying characteristics of sugar beet pulp in superheated-steam at three temperature (140, 165 and 210°C) and two size of sample (3and 6mm) under atmospheric pressure,and quality of dried product in terms of rehydration and microstructure were studied. Decreasing in moisture content of the samples increased, with increasing the superheated-steam temperature and decreasing in particle size of samples.In terms of quality the large pore was produced at higher temperature and particle size as observed from FESEM micrographs, the ability of rehydration improved with decreasing in particle size and temperature.
