چکیده:

API 5CTL80 steel is low alloys steel that because of good mechanical properties and reasonable price are used a lot in oil structures. In this study the physical and mechanical properties of this steel under thermal cycle annealing, austempering and finally Quenching in water is studied. At first samples were annealed at 950 °C for 1 hour. After that for 40 minutes at 720 ° C were tempered. Finally were quenched in water. Results of hardness and tensile tests show achieving high strength and hardness. Microstructure has been detected by light microscopic that indicate good mechanical property is because of bainite and ferrite fine structure.
