چکیده:

Construction a 64m high present embankment dam with a vertical clay core (Eyvashan dam) in Iran is analyzed munerically. The analyses was performed with FLAC 2D computer code, which is based on the finite difference technique, and employing the E-B hyperbolic constitutive model to determine the mechanical behaviors of the dam materials. This model using FLAC 2D is developed for modeling the actual implementation procedure of embankment as layered. Material parameters are determined from triaxial tests on the rockfill, core, filter and transition materials, compacted to field dry density andmoisture content .A non-linear model for pore pressure response is used successfully to predict the highpore pressures in the lower region of the core. The results of the analyses are summarized as follows: the maximum settlement of dam is about 27 centimeters on middle part of dam’s height, and consolidation settlement of core is equal to 20 centimeters
