چکیده:

Triflic acid which was supported on silica encapsulated magnetic nanoparticles γ-Fe2O3, is found to be an effective catalyst for Strecker-type reaction at room temperature. A wide variety of aldehydes, amines and TMSCN as cyanide source can be easily transformed into the corresponding α-amino nitriles. The water tolerantcatalyst can be easily separated from the reaction mixtures by applying an external magnetic field. The ease of recovery, combined with the intrinsic stability of themagnetic catalytic system, allow the catalyst to be recycled with no significant loss of catalytic activity. The catalyst is characterized using IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, and TGA.
