For The measurement of the total forces acting on the surface of a water tunnel model an accurate six-component force balance was designed. Generally in six-component force-moment sensors, sensed force information always includes some errors. The objective of this study was to model the behavior of the balance under loading representative of those expected in the experiment to optimize design and performance of the designed balance. The balance behavior was modeled under all loading conditions present in an experiment. Main ideas of this study were to improve the performance of the transducers of the balance. The analysis of balance structures was performed using COSMOS Software to minimize the linear and nonlinear errors of the balance structure.
