چکیده:

Concepts of the static pushover analysis have been extended to the field of concrete gravity dams to assess the behavior of this type of structures.Based on the obtained results the structural capacities and limit-states of the gravity dams can be determined. By comparison of the responseparameters demanded in earthquakes with these capacities simple damage indexes have been introduced to capture the amount of damageimposed to the structure under some seismic excitations. The procedure is applied to a typical concrete gravity dam, its capacity and limit-states is determined, and its residual strength under some seismic records is assessed using proposed damage indexes
