چکیده:

The paper presents a stability characteristics prediction for Functionally Graded Toroidal shells (FGTS) with circular cross-section under uniform external pressure. The material properties vary continuously in thickness direction. Sanders-Budiansky shell stability theory specialized for circular toroidal coordinate is used for stability analysis. Also, a two-dimensional differential quadrature method (DQM) is utilized in order to solvestability equations. The numerical results for critical buckling pressure in different geometry and material properties are presented and these results are compared with previous analytical and finite elements studies which indicate that geometry characteristics and changing in volume fraction for FGM have obvious effects on toroidal shells buckling capability
