چکیده:

In this article, we present a simulation study conducted in the emergency department of Shariati Hospital in Iran. Based on analysis of process and flow data, a simulation model of patient throughput in the emergency department has been developed and then it gets optimized. The tool used in this article is the simulation software of ExtendSim Company. With new resource allocation resulted from optimization, a reduction time of 5 hours occurred in delay time
