Energy and water Consumption in an industrial wet cooling tower (WCT) involve a major part of energy consumption in any industry. To find different solution for decreasing the expense of WCTs, one should knows about the main parameters cause energy consumption. Sensible heat transfer share (SHS) is one of the main parameters which can explain most of thermal behavior of a WCT in different operation conditions. Therefore, by developing a numerical model for a crossflow WCT, the effects of SHS on water and energy consumption were investigated. Besides, some experimental test were done to evaluate the accuracy of model. The results showed that SHS has substantial effect on water evaporation and can be modified by inlet water temperature and fan speed if it`s possible. For instance, it was found that a 5 oC increase in inlet water temperature can increase the SHS by 10%. Further, it was shown that with the same increase in inlet water temperature, the required air flow rate and the evaporation rate can be decreased by 30% and 10% respectively with no decline in cooling rate
