چکیده:

This paper presents an analytical solution to investigate seismic response of pile groups due to lateral movement of the sliding layer. Lateral response of an isolated pile is based on normal and shear resistance applied around the pile. The results are compared with other availablemethods. Further analyses are carried out to explore the role of influencing factors such as earthquake intensity, ground slope, center to center spacing of piles, location of pile row (zigzag or parallel), numbers of piles and the ratio of the sliding layer, and length to total length of the pile. The results show these influencing factors have important effect on design of pile groups subjected to lateral movements.
