Elimination of chemical pollutants from a contaminated media is one of the most important steps towards achieving the goal of environmental remediation. Dibenzofurans typify a class of highly toxic and stable aromatic pollutants. They accumulate in the food chain and end up in human bodies when people consume animal and/or fish products. In this work, highly ordered mesoporous carbon molecular sieves, designated as CMK-1, were synthesized using mesoporous MCM-48 silica of various pore diameters as template. The latter were then modified by polyaniline. The structural order and textural properties of the synthesized products were studied by means of XRD, SEM, and Nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis. Adsorption of dibenzofuran from n-heptane solutions of different concentrations over CMK-1/polyaniline adsorbents was studied at ambient temperature (25 ± ۲ ۰C) and solution pH of 7.
