چکیده:

Electrocoagulation (EC) is an ef¿cient method for removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) from laundry wastewater. The effects of initial pH, voltage, number of aluminum plates, hydraulic retention time (HRT) on removal efficiency is investigated. Experimental results showed that by increasing hydraulic retention time (HRT) and, number of aluminum plates, removal efficiency increases. In this study, COD removal ef¿ciency up to 95% was achieved under the optimum hydraulic retention time, pH, voltage and number of aluminum plates for COD (4155 mg /L) was 90 min, (6-7), 30 and 6, respectively. After treatment, the COD concentration was reduced to lower than 200 mg/L.
