چکیده:

Precise control of drug release rate in hydrogel drug delivery systems to better mimic physiological condition is a challenging research topic in development of advanced drug delivery systems. In this paper, poly (methacrylamide-co-methacrylic acid), as a biodegradable and non-toxic hydrogel has been modified with poly (ethylene glycol) to develop semi-interpenetrating network (sIPN), that can act as the potential candidate for novel drug delivery system. The release dynamics of tetracycline hydrochloride as a model drug have been discussed, for the evaluation of the drug release mechanism and diffusion coefficients. The effect of pH and temperature on the release pattern of tetracycline has been studied by varying the pH and temperature of release medium.
