Experimental investigations on microstrip line excited dielectric resonator antenna configurations suitable for mobile communication applications are reported. High permittivity (εrd=48) resonator samples with a unit-cell defect in ground plane are employed. The antenna is simulated by the software HFSS. HFSS, high frequency structure simulator is employed to analyze the proposed antenna and simulated results on return loss, The resultant antenna with Defected Ground Structure has improved in parameters performance. That increased bandwidth (18.1 and 7.4 and 12.9) percent, respectively, were obtained for the frequency bands of GSM-WLAN-GPS.
