During the process of gas dehydration using Glycol solvent, the tri ethylene content of Glycol absorbs the water vapors of natural gas. In addition to this vapors, other hydrocarbons are also absorbed by Glycol and then during the Glycol regeneration process are directly released in atmosphere along with water vapors. Aromatic compounds like Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene and Xylene are among hydrocarbons which are available in natural gas and are absorbed in the triethylene compound of Glycol. Aromatic compounds are harmful to human health and also are carcinogenic so, it is a very important issue to reduce the rate of diffusion of aromatic compounds in atmosphere from natural gas dehydration units. In this study, we investigate the danger of BTEX compounds to human health and also estimate the different methods which may be useful in decreasing the rate of diffusion of aromatic compounds in atmosphere.
