چکیده:

Pulsatile pipe flow of thixotropic fluids is studied analytically assuming that the flow is laminar, incompressible, unidirectional and axisymmetric. The fluid of interest is assumed to obey Moore’s model for thixotropic fluids modified in such a way that it also accounts for yield stress fluids. Perturbation method will be used to obtain a series solution for the velocity profiles with the Reynolds number as the perturbation parameter. Results are obtained depicting the strong effect of pulsatile pressure amplitude and also the fluid’s thixotropic and yield stress properties on the volume flow rate.
