چکیده:

This paper is going to assess the progressive collapse behavior of seismically code designed steel framebuildings. The structural systems considered are concentrically braced frame (CBF) and momentresisting frame (MRF). The progressive collapse design guidelines typically recommend simplifiedanalysis procedures involving instantaneous removal of specified critical columns in a building. Theobjective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of progressive collapse evaluation throughnumerical simulations such as linear static, non-linear static and non-linear dynamic analysisprocedures. The simulated results of considered models showed that non-linear dynamic analysisreflects progressive collapse more accurate than linear analysis. Also, the 3D model is more realisticthan 2D model for the progressive collapse analysis.
