چکیده:

This study describes a fractured carbonate reservoir case study of Asmari Formation in Southern Iranian Fields. The aim of the study is to develop a fluid and a reservoir model that can explain the production mechanism and reproduce unique field characteristics. The proposed model is then used to explore the potential for enhanced oil recovery. The reservoir fluid is volatile oil with bubble point close to initial reservoir pressure. Due to the volatile nature of the reservoir fluid, extensive fluid properties processing was done and a most representative fluid model was generated. A single well reservoir model was developed and compositional simulation was carried out using the generated fluid model. History matching methods were used to adjust reservoir parameters to obtain a match with the field data. The model was able to reproduce most of the observed field characteristics. A volatile oil material balance was applied to calculate the recoveries. The model was then used in exploring various enhanced recovery methods using CO2, flue gas and methane injection. Only CO2 injection appears feasible
