چکیده:

One of the most important challenges in the broadening application of polymeric materials to new fields of everyday life and engineering areas is to enhance their weak points trough different methods and modifications while maintaining their advantages such as light weight and low cost of production. Polyurethanes are a major group of polymers in which combination of different hard and soft segments results in a significantly wide range of properties.di-isocyanate and chain extender were added respectively. Xray diffraction study showed that use of 43B led to the exfoliated structures in TPU; 72T and 67G nanoclays resulted in partially intercalated nanocomposites where 72T showed better dispersion than67G. DELLITE® LVF and DELLITE® HPS were not effectively dispersed inTPU. The tensile properties of nanocomposites with 43B were better relatively.Investigation of thermal properties indicated that, nanocomposites containing 43B showed better thermal stability and also Tg and Tm were remarkably higher in comparison to nanocomposites of other nanoclays. For other nanocomposites, thermal and mechanical properties were apparently affected by degree of nanoclay dispersion in the matrix and good dispersion also led to good thermal and mechanical properties.
