چکیده:

The crystallization and mechanical properties of gelcast bodies based on cordierite glass-ceramics was studied.Glass fragments were obtained by quenching the melt in cold water. Effect of polymer values as well as sinteringtemperature on bending strength of dried and sintered bodies were investigated. It was found that the green strengthof AM samples is higher than MAM samples, associated with the inherent strength of the AM, when the polymerization rate is not very fast. The crystallisation was followed by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Crystallization of cordierite-based glass decreasesbecause of increase the heating rate. However, comparison of resulted XRD peak at various diffractions shows that cordierite phase increases because of heating at 930˚C. As a result microstructure was characterized by small-sized crystal (<200 nm), with a uniform grain-size distribution
