In recent years, many papers have been published in the literature deal with systems in the nanometer size range, in view of the widespread and increasing importance of nanotechnology in the field chemistry. Some have argued that nanotechnology is simply a re-invention of colloid science but this is to miss the point and to confuse the technology with the object. While colloids were first described and the word colloid invented by Thomas Graham in 1845, and nanosized particles have existed in nature for example in dust and the environment since time immemorial [1]. Metal nanoparticles have been extendedly applied in chemical sensors [2]. Also dendrimers as highly branched well-defined macromolecules, have found increasing applications in nanoscience as a new type of potential template for the formation of inorganic nanoclusters [3]. Dendrimer/metal-ion composite materials, which are the precursors for dendrimer/metal nanoparticles, are prepared in solutions containing dendrimers and metal ions, such as Pt2+, Pd2+, Au3+, Ag+ and so on. Reduction of dendrimer/metal-ion composites with an excess of a chemical reducing agent in water yields nearly monodisperse, zerovalent metal nanoparticles [4]. In this work, we applied the isolated nanostructure dendrimers as the templates to prepare of Au nanoparticles from treating of dendrimer and HAuCl4 aqueous solution through the reduction process.
