چکیده:

Several applications of polymer materials as formation of film on a solid substrate are carried out by phase separation of a ternary system of two polymers and a solvent. The polymer mixture forms a phase separated patterned film. In this study the kinetics of the phase separation of a ternary system has been modeled in a two dimensional domain using the non-linear Cahn-Hilliard theory which its solution provides the dynamic evolution of polymer film microstructure on a patterned surface. The effect of polymers molecular weights and also concentration of polymers and the temperature have been studied during spinodal decomposition phase separation. The model is capable controlling the morphology and properties of the formed film for several optical and instrumental applications. It has been found that the temperature and the initial polymer concentration have the major effects on the formation of the polymer film and its microstructure.
