چکیده:

A natural-draft dry-cooling tower (NDDCT) or Heller Type is one of the most widely used types of condenser circulating water systems [5]. The performance of dry cooling tower is highly affected by environmental conditions, especially wind condition. Hence the use of windbreak walls and flue gas injection into tower is proposed to reduce these effects and to create better suction. A three-dimensional study on the thermal performance of a NDDCT under various crosswind magnitude and angles is conducted using the viscous Navier-Stokes equations to simulate airflow in and around an NDDCT Calculation results show that flue gas injection into tower and using windbreak walls significantly increase exchanged heat of cooling tower
