چکیده:

One of the best improvement technique o soft clays is the ins allation of geosynthatic encased stone columns.A numerical analysis was carried out using Plaxis software and the effectiveness of geosynthetic in reducing the settlementof single foundation resting on ageosynthatic encased s o e column was investigated through a parametric study a drained analysis was carried out using Mohr Coulomb’s criterion for soft clay and stone.The geogrid element was used to model the eosynt e ic an was modeled as lin arelasti element Based on the results of these nalyses warrping the stone column withgeosynthetic, significantly reduces the lateral bul ng which occurs at top sections of ordinary stone column during loading, and increases the ran er of axial force o low r depths too.
