چکیده:

Investigation of suspended sediment load can be considered as one of the main phenomenal parameters, therefore some mathematical and empirical models, meta heuristic methods and chaotic dynamics have been used to study of this factor in recent years. Because of high capability of chaos theory in non-linear processes and natural events modeling, this study is attempted to characterize of suspended sediment concentration at five different successively doubled temporal scales, daily, 2-day, 4- day, 8-day, and 16-day, in the Mississippi River. For computation of delay time ofphase space average mutual information used and also chaotic dimension estimated by correlation dimension. Results show that the daily, 2-day, and 4-day series, having fractal dimension values 3, 3.49, and 4.39 respectively, is capable of being calculatedby this theory, but the 8-day and 16-day of the above five scales should be estimatedby the stochastic models.
