چکیده:

the numericalmodeling of fault rupture propagation from base rock to the surface has long been the concern of many researches. In this paper the problem of propagation of fault rupture is examined for this puppose a 2D plane strain model of hhorizontal soil layer is analyzed. the soil layer is supposed to be in dry condition and the analysis is static . we try to model the elasto-plastic behavior of soil with finite element method. most of the differential movement is localized in a zone depending on soil characteristics . this zone is in the spot of large plastic strains. the focus of this paper is to find real soil responses to dip-slip faulting during its propagation through soil deposit .
