Wolbachia is an interacellular symbiont of insects and a wide range of arthropods and nematodes. Inbiological control, Wolbachia symbiosis is effective with natural enemies in increasing their efficiency. Forexample, Wolbachia symbiosis with Trichogramma wasps make some changes in host reproductive systemwhich inducing thelytocky. Because of the importance of thelytoky for natural enemies such asTrichogramma. in this study, Wolbachia detection was performed in 19 Trichogramma populations. Thosepopulations were T. brassicae, T. evanscens and T. embryophagum from different parts of Iran. Wolbachiainfection was determined in 6 populations with high infection rate of T. evanescens population. The highestinfection observed in the samples of Mazandaran province. In phylogenic grouping, samples were placed intwo supergroups of A and B. Most isolates belonged to sib subgroup. Recombination analysis shown thatthere were recombination among FUM3, FUM7 and Wg10 isolates which belonged to T. evanescens, T.embryophagum and T. evanescens species respectively. This study shown that the recombination caused bywsp gene made this marker not suitable for grouping this symbiont correctly. So we can recommend in studyabout these symbionts, beside wsp gene, other genes like 16S or ftsZ have to use. New approach of usingseveral genes which called MLST is expressing this subject. Due to importance of Wolbachia role inthelytoky of parasitoids wasp in order to increase the parasitism rate and decrease the mass production costs,this comprehensive approach should be followed in Wolbachia research.
