چکیده:

A modified model of discrete element technique (DET) in vibration analysis of Timoshenko beams subjected to moving masses is presented. In classical formulation of DET, the effects of Coriolis and centrifugal forces, which can be important especially in high values of velocities, are neglected. Therefore, this paper considers the effects of these two factors and presents a modified formulation for DET. Several examples are solved to show the effect of these factors on the vibration response of a beam subjected to a moving mass. It is seen that the Coriolis force has the effect of reducing the dynamic response of the pinned–pinned beam but the effect of centrifugal force is reverse
