In this paper, the effects of mass non-uniformity of tires on the vehicle’s steering system is modeled and simulated. First, the McPherson strut independent suspension and rack & pinion steering systems, which are widely used in today’s vehicles, are modeled in ADAMS software package. Then, various conditions of tire’s mass non-uniformity including static and dynamic imbalance are simulated. After that, an analysis oneffect of these cases on the behavior and dynamic of steering system, which has a vital role in vehicle stability and passenger comfort, is fulfilled. The simulations revealed that static imbalance of tire leads to increase the vibrations in the form of rack longitudinal displacement fluctuations and the torque acting on the steering wheel. Also, dynamic imbalance caused the increase in the amount of rack longitudinal displacement and relatively increased the torque acting on the steering wheel.
