One of the solution to optimal transmission of energy, is using the way that give minimum of energy loss. In this paper, The deviation of bus voltage from its nominal value together with loss of energy in a power system are to be minimized by injection of some reactive power through some optimistically placed shuntcapacitors, using an immune algorithm. The main benefit of using an immune algorithm is that it prevents many times repetition ofsimilar solutions. The presented approach can even begin from a least preferred solution, applying to it a loop of optimizations consisting of many crossover and mutation processes, andeventually bring about a solution that meets a level of preferences better than that required, although the threshold is determined bymeans of fuzzy logic to reflect the imprecise nature of optimization objectives. Considering a wider range of solutions at the beginningadvantageously improves the possibility that the final optimized solution is the result of a global optimization and not just a localone. The results obtained are compared with the results of a genetic algorithm used for the same problem.
