چکیده:

Among textile composites, braided composites have received increasing attention from scientists due to their exceptional mechanical properties and are utilized in aerospace, automobile and marine industries. Meso-scale finite element (FE) modeling of textile composites is a powerful tool for homogenization of mechanical properties, study of stress–strain fields inside the unit cell, determination of damage initiation conditions and sites and simulation of damage development. This paper takes into account the finite element analysis of a triaxial braided carbon/epoxy composite unit cell (TBC), applied in the aerospace industry, under periodic boundary condition from meso approach. The geometry modeling in meso FE-modeling has been accomplished by ABAQUS-V.6.10.1 software. The general homogenized properties of the entire unit cell have been obtained in two directions of axial tows and transverse by having the mechanical properties of tows and resin separately
