چکیده:

Mass transfer in membrane contactors for acid gas removal have been extensively reviewed and discussed. The gas absorption process can offer ahigh selectivity and a high driving force for transport even at low concentrations. Using hollow fiber gas– liquid membrane contactors is a promising alternativeto conventional gas absorption systems for acid gas capture from gas streams. The results of the review indicated that the membrane resistance depends onmembrane mode of operation (no wetted, wetted or partially wetted). Moreover, since the membrane contactor facilitates indirect contact between twophases, the application of hollow fiber model contactor can possibly be extended to liquid–liquid systems.
