چکیده:

This paper applies a new numerical approach for the lower bound limit analysis of cohesion-frictional materials. In the derived formulation the stress field is approximated by the mesh-free method which uses Shepard’s technique for the shape function construction. A collocation method is used to satisfy the equilibrium equations throughout the problem domain and the linearized Mohr-Coulomb yield function is applied to impose the non-yielded condition for the entire nodes in the domain. Based on the derived relations a computer code has been developed and the accuracy and efficiency of proposed method is investigated by solving an example at the end of the paper.
