Aimed at determining clay phase morphology in semi-immiscible polymer blend nanocomposites by rheological approach and gain insights into the simultaneous effects of clay and blend morphology on viscoelastic characteristics, Linear and non-linear viscoelastic behavior of LDPE/EVA/Closite15A ternary nanocomposites as a model system were studied. Using linear and non-linear viscoelastic analyses, more tendency of clay to EVA phase and its preferential localization at the interface of PE-rich blends were concluded. It was also deduced that the clay is preferentially located in matrix phase in EVA-rich blends. Non-linear rheometry showed that the relaxation of ternary systems was dominated by the shaperelaxation of dispersed droplets. Morphology alterations of PE/EVA blends, induced by clay feeding, were also predicted through linear and non-linear rheological properties. Direct morphological analyses were done using SEM and TEM techniques and obtained data confirmed the predicted results by linear and non-linear viscoelastic experiments
